Booking an indoor playground for your child's birthday sounds simple — until you start comparing venues and realise packages, pricing and what's actually included can vary wildly. Here's what actually matters when you're choosing where to celebrate.
If your guest list spans toddlers and school-age kids, check that the venue separates lower-energy toddler zones from higher-energy equipment like slides and obstacle courses. Ask how often the play area is cleaned and sanitised, not just at opening. A venue that only cleans once a day accumulates a lot of contact from dozens of kids by the afternoon. Look for venues that deep-clean multiple times daily and disinfect equipment between sessions.
Trained staff should be visible and actively supervising the play area, not just stationed at the entrance. For a birthday party specifically, ask whether a staff member is assigned to your party room or float between multiple events.
"Birthday package" can mean very different things — some venues only include the room rental, others bundle in decorations, food, and a dedicated host. Weekend slots at popular venues fill up fast. As a general rule, book 2–3 weeks ahead for a weekend party, and even earlier around school holidays. Weekday parties usually have more flexibility if your child's school schedule allows it.
